1-7-21  THOUGHTS

My thinking this morning comes from an experience yesterday morning.  It isn’t often that I find myself driving east on Green Valley Road at 7:15 in the morning.  Old folks go to the lab now and then, and it was my time.
There was some cloud coverage on the horizon, so the rays of the rising sun had a canvas to paint on.  And paint they did.  It was awesomely beautiful.  I thought of a question that God presented to Job.
Job 38:12    "Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, [And] caused the dawn to know its place,”
I was witnessing GOD COMMAND THE MORNING!  He only was in charge of this picture.
Ps 74:16   Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; You have prepared the light and the sun.
Ps 136:4–9    To Him who alone does great wonders, For His lovingkindness is everlasting; 5  To Him who made the heavens with skill, For His lovingkindness is everlasting; 6  To Him who spread out the earth above the waters, For His lovingkindness is everlasting; 7  To Him who made the great lights, For His lovingkindness is everlasting: 8  The sun to rule by day, For His lovingkindness is everlasting, 9  The moon and stars to rule by night, For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
And in a different sense...
Luke 1:77-79    To give to His people the knowledge of salvation By the forgiveness of their sins, 78  Because of the tender mercy of our God, With which
the Sunrise from on high will visit us, 79  TO SHINE UPON THOSE WHO SIT IN DARKNESS AND THE SHADOW OF DEATH, To guide our feet into the way of peace."
2Pet 1:19    [So] we have the prophetic word [made] more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until
the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.
The metaphor was SO PLAIN to this preacher.
God’s sun shines in His creation, and His Son shines in every part of our existence!
Col 1:16-17 [Jesus is the subject here]  For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together [consist KJV].

My Prayer:
Truly Father your creation tells of your might and glory.  We are continually awed by the demonstration of your power as we live in your wonderful world.  Your loving kindness draws us to you.  Thank you Oh God for your perfect way.  We rejoice that you alone are God.  May we always abide in you through Christ Jesus.

We pray always in his name          Amen
